Mauritius can be a wonderfully settled honeymoon: a coastal base, a few island outings and time to return to the water. The landscape beyond the beach adds another dimension, from gardens to mountain scenery.

Choose your part of the coast

Choose the coast you want to wake up on, then build a gentle route around it.

Different shores create different settings for a stay. The hotel collection here begins around Quatre Cocos on the east coast, while places such as Le Morne lie elsewhere on the island. Compare distances before making a daily itinerary that crosses Mauritius in every direction.

Let an outing change the perspective

We suggest choosing a small number of days beyond the hotel: a garden, a cultural visit or a landscape outing that interests you both. Leave other days free to enjoy the coast. An anniversary meal can stand on its own without a full programme before it.

Plan for your coast and season

Ask your advisor about local weather patterns, beach conditions and activities for the particular dates and shoreline you choose. Confirm transfer times and any guided arrangements. The right hotel base should support your preferred balance of exploring and doing very little.
