Rainforest mornings. Pacific evenings. A little adventure, a little closer.
Plan a proposal in Costa RicaFollow a forest trail in the morning. Let a warm spring take care of the afternoon. Then trade the canopy for the coast, and leave a few days beautifully unplanned.
A Costa Rica trip can hold both adventure and time to slow down. The pleasure is in giving each place enough room — and choosing the parts you want to share. For a honeymoon, an anniversary or time away together, start with the landscape and let the route follow.

Go inland for forest walks, volcano landscapes and the kind of quiet that still has a soundtrack.
Make space for a walk through the forest and a soak in warm mineral water. A hanging-bridge walk or a guided trail can give the morning a little adventure; keep the afternoon for a long lunch and time together.
Slow down in the cloud forest. Cooler air, mist and forest trails give this part of the journey a different rhythm. Go with a naturalist, look closely, and let the small things hold your attention.

Leave the last part of the trip for salt air, long conversations and somewhere you’re happy to stay awhile.
A place to anchor the coastal part of your trip, with space to settle into your own rhythm.

The weather follows the landscape. Plan around the part of Costa Rica you want to explore.
December to March is the main dry season, with April a transition month. May to October is wetter; September and October are typically the rainiest. A green-season trip can still be rewarding when you leave room to adjust outdoor plans.
Rain follows a different rhythm here, with no clearly defined dry season. February–March and September–October tend to be relatively drier periods along the coast. Choose your dates around your route, rather than a country-wide weather rule.
Seasonal guidance: Costa Rica Tourism.
The country’s seven tourism regions range from the Northern Plains and Central Valley to Guanacaste, Puntarenas, the Central and South Pacific, and the Caribbean. You do not need to fit them all into one trip. Pick a few places that feel different from one another, and allow time for the journeys between them.
Follow a guide through the forest, look for birds, kayak or take a coastal boat trip. Choose activities around your comfort and the conditions that day. Wildlife is part of the experience, but never a promise; a slower walk often reveals more than a busy schedule.
Begin with the setting you want to share: the coast, a garden or the green interior. Then work through guest travel, a weather backup and time together before and after the celebration. Your advisor and local wedding team can help you compare venues and confirm the requirements for your chosen ceremony.
Bring the trip to the Pacific for beach time and a change of pace. Choose a base around the days you want to have: an easy coastal walk, a boat outing or simply a quiet place to watch the light change.
Pair a morning on the national park’s trails with a few days by the coast. Book park entry ahead and leave room around the visit. A honeymoon feels better when each day has space to breathe.
