Anguilla is the northernmost island of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. It’s about 150 miles east of Puerto Rico and nine miles north of St. Martin and is easily accessible by air or by ferry from one of the neighboring islands. The island is about 16 miles long, and you can drive from one end to the other in approximately forty-five minutes. You’ll want to take your time, though, to experience the island’s many beaches, restaurants, attractions, and nature.
The people of Anguilla are a great part of what makes our island such a magnificent place. A calm nature, soulful joie de vivre, and a respect for our rich history, including our status as a self-governing British Overseas Territory, give the island a uniquely warm and welcoming ambiance.
Anguilla’s local cuisine has an allure that appeals to Anguillans and visitors alike. Whether it’s lining up for Miss Mabel’s soup on a Saturday morning or heading for the curried goat that’s always on the menu at Smokey’s, the island is a feast for both the epicurean and for those of us who just love to eat.
May through August. “Rainy” season is September and October, but even those months are mostly sunny. In general, hurricane season in the Caribbean runs from June through November.

Couples looking to get married on the island can choose from an array of historic churches, secluded offshore cays, lush resort gardens, luxurious seaside villas or even private yachts on which to tie the knot. Many resorts offer customized arrangements and special packages. We also have experienced wedding planners who will design and create a memorable, one-of-a-kind wedding that reflects the couple’s traditions, personalities, and wishes.
Additional requirements for a wedding in a Catholic church include confirmation papers,
baptismal certificate, Freedom to Marry papers, pre-Cana course, and 3-6 months advance notice.
